A First of Firsts

John gave Dominic his first bottle. We just got our pump and had to see how he would do. So far so good and no rejection of the original food source! :) This makes things much easier!

 

Not Quite Heavy Enough

The last few weeks have been fun seeing Dominic grow and change. He has gradually started getting interested in objects (floor toy, a small rattle, swing lights + toys) and sounds. This week he has become SUPER interested enough to entertain himself for at least 30 minutes or so twice a day. This is nice for me... working from home and all.

Our morning usually starts at 7 or 8 AM. He wakes up and wants to "play" and poo. Every morning at 7 or 8 AM I have to prop him up on a pillow so he can fill his diaper. It's pretty funny. He's quite scheduled with his nighttime/morning routine and his daily napping changes weekly depending on what we're doing.

So back to entertainment of objects. Now that I can see him being entertained, I've had my eye open for some toys. We did buy a Johnny-Jump-Up because he LOVES to stand and holds his head and body up so well. He's just a tad too small and unstable for that yet (of course)... BUT I came across this Fischer Price Rainforest Jumparoo on craigslist. I picked it up for $45. It was bought in January this year and only used a couple of times. Her little girl didn't like it.

John re-assembled it this morning and we put Dom in it. HA-HA! He is not quite heavy enough for the shortest setting. I do realize that your baby is generally supposed to be 4-6mos before expecting them to use one of these. He was fairly entertained by the experience. I put some books under his feet so that he could stand easier (being 6 inches or so off the ground!).

A Day at the River

Monday was absolutly crazy! We went to the Illinois River, ate lunch with the Jentzsch's in Grants Pass, swam in the Jentzsch's pool (Dominic got to visit with Gramsy) and topped off the day with some rock climbing (bouldering) at the gym. Of course, Dominic and I were just spectators to the climbing... although maybe soon we will start climbing. :)

We took Michaela and Luka, our friend Michael's kids (6 and 10) on our adventure. This is Luka...

2 Month Stats

Height: 24 in. / 95th percentile

Weight: 12 lbs. 4 oz. / 75th percentile
Head: 15 1/4 in. / 50th percentile

Dominic is proportional but HUGE! Not the chubby, fat huge .... but the height!?? You would think his parents were tall or something. Granted my dad and bros are all tall.... but still. He is as big as Alex in height alone. Alex has a rounder belly and I think is still a smudge taller and a bit heavier. Do you think he'll pass him up? maybe!

Hopes for a hockey-player-son are so far so good! haha!

Three Generations of Bermea's

I took a normal photo of hands when we were down in San Jose visiting. The hands are of Dominic, John and John's Dad Hector - three generations. I edited it in photoshop to make it look like we did it in a studio. I have a couple others I'm going to do this with. This one was my favorite. (The original photo is below)

Dominic's Blessing

Dominic was Blessed June 1st by my dad.

He looked so cute in his blessing outfit that his Gramsy made him.

(I realized when looking back at Dominic's pictures that I never posted on his Blessing. :( So I'm dating this one back to the day. What a squishy-head he was! I can't believe he was that small!?)
