Dominic's Blessing

Dominic was Blessed June 1st by my dad.

He looked so cute in his blessing outfit that his Gramsy made him.

(I realized when looking back at Dominic's pictures that I never posted on his Blessing. :( So I'm dating this one back to the day. What a squishy-head he was! I can't believe he was that small!?)

Road Trip! (Chico, Yosemite, San Jose)

While Dominic was between two and three weeks old we had a lot of spare time on our hands so we decided to take a spontaneous trip into California. First (Monday/Tuesday) we headed to Chico to visit some friends (Mark & Esther) we haven't seen in four years! They now have a one year old little girl, Amelia. Such a cutie! We had a great visit. The video is Mark and Amelia. Amelia is quite the character. She does this hilariously animated gesture every time someone asks a question.

Then (Wednesday/Thursday) we headed on down to Yosemite National Park. WOW! John and I have never been. I would highly recommend visiting here. We hiked everywhere all day long! Here we are in front of Half Dome. I hope that I hike this one of these days. Too dangerous for a new baby and getting back into hiking.

The Mist Trail (below) - If you hike to the top you have to pass through mist so heavy it's like rain. We didn't think we should drag Dominic to the top. The stairs are pure granite and he'd would have gotten too soaked. I'd like to come back and finish the hike still. check out the video.

Lastly (Friday/Saturday), we visited family in San Jose. Dominic got to meet his Grandpa Hector and Grandma Ruth, Aunt Canella and (soon-to-be) Uncle Shannon and his other Uncle Daniel for the first time. We also hopped over to see his Great Aunt Janan and Great Uncle Harry.

Bathtime

Drying off and getting my oil treatment under the heat-light. Ahhh... I love this part.


I fell asleep so Mom decided to leave me wrapped up for a little nap.
An hour or so later Mom realized she had not put a diaper on me.
I was good, no mess. I do like to stretch out when I wake up though.

Lifting My Head

Dominic is one week old as of yesterday (Saturday, the 3rd). He's been lifting his head from the moment he was put on my chest. He likes to lift up and look around.

A Busy Day

I had such a busy day today! First of all, my moma would like to brag that last night I slept from 12:30 AM - 4:30 AM and then from 5:30 AM - 8:30 AM. Yes she knows I'm supposed to eat every two hours but considering I'd eaten a ton all day she thought it was fine.After breakfast and reading with Dad, my Aunt Pat stopped by. She brought me some more really cool burp-rags! Then I got to go on a walk and hang out at the Park...Don't worry... my parents didn't leave me to fry in the sunshine.

I ended my day with my first bath and a wonderful oil massage under the heat lamp.

I was pretty content here.
